would like to invite you to take part in the 5th International Conference
“Teaching and Learning English for Career Development”
24-26th April 2008, Krasnoyarsk
The aims of the conference:
— to discuss the objectives, requirements and the outcomes of effective English teaching in all educational sectors;
— to provide opportunities for professional development of EFL teachers
Conference Sub-Themes:
— Applied linguiscics: new trends in language theory and implications for language teaching, the recent changes in the language which should be taken into consideration.- Methods of teaching Englishforalleducationalsectors (primary, secondary, tertiaryandvocational): interactive techniques, use of ICT, e-learning , teaching materials…- Monitoring and assessmentofthelevelofEnglishlanguage proficiency in primary, secondary, tertiary and vocational educational institutions and defining language proficiency of future English teachers. Monitoring and assessment of the English language acquisition in all educational sectors. Relating internal summative assessment to the Common European Framework.- ProfessionalstandardofEFL: professional development and appraisal system;- On-line support for teachers’ professional development; communities of practice.- Educational exhibition: international ELT projects.
The languages of the conference are English and Russian.
The conference will be held live and on-line.
The participants are welcome to give reports in the sections of Applied Linguistics and Monitoring and Assessment of the English Language acquisition. In the “Methods of teaching English”section reports and workshops will be presented. The section“On-line support for teachers’ professional development” will be held in real time and on-line. The presentations can be of conceptual, applied, theoretical and practical character. You will have a chance to participate in a discussion about the professional standard of EFL teacher. The educational exhibition will host presentations of both on-going and completed projects.
The conference outcomes will be printed as a collection of reports.
Requirements for submissions: Word. doc 2000, Times New Roman, size 12, 1-line interval. References to sources must meet scientific and bibliographical standards otherwise they will not be considered. Changing the style or format is not accepted. The articles must not exceed the 6-page limit. The publication of 1 page costs 150 rubles.
The organising committee is entitled to reject any submissions should they not correspond to the themes and objectives of the conference.
The application fee is 350 rubles. Non-CIS resident- $ 50.
Non-residents can be provided with rooms in the halls of residence at a cost of 200-500 rubles per day (please notify beforehand). The number of the rooms is limited. You can also book a room in a hotel at a minimum cost of 1500 roubles per day.
The conference will be held at Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical College №1. , Krasnoyarsk, Uritskogo Str,106.
